It has been a privilege to work closely with so many local community groups in the Lagan Valley constituency who have been involved in the regeneration of their local areas. In partnership we have been able to achieve so much together for the benefit of the entire community including recreational amenities, environmental improvements, road safety measures, youth facilities, support for the elderly and the disabled and a host of other local initiatives. To all those who work so tirelessly and unselfishly for their local community, I say a sincere thank you. I will continue to press for environmental improvement schemes for local towns and villages including Hillsborough, Moira and Dromore that are sympathetic to conservation but also act as catalysts for economic regeneration.
